## What you can do

- **Chat with AI that knows your projects.** Bring a project, a
  knowledge base, or specific resources into the chat context. The
  assistant answers from your documents.
- **Use reusable AI skills.** Skills are structured AI capabilities
  with defined inputs and outputs. They can be chained into
  multi-step processes.
- **Run multi-step automations.** Workflows that combine LLM
  calls, tool calls, and user inputs.
- **Memory across chats.** The assistant remembers context from
  prior conversations.
- **Grounded web search.** Web search returns results with cited
  sources.

## Document types

- **PDF** — text and structure extraction; layout-aware OCR for
  scans; embedded for semantic search.
- **DOCX** — text and table extraction; fill-in templates.
- **Tables (XLSX, CSV)** — row and column extraction; embedded for
  semantic search.
- **Audio** — transcription, single file or batch.
- **Images** — generation and OCR.

## Edit in chat

- **Resources** — the assistant proposes changes directly in chat;
  you accept or reject with a live diff preview.
- **Tables and collections** — build, query, and edit structured
  data — both row-based tables and ordered collections — directly
  from chat.

## Projects

- Projects, tasks, and contacts (Persons and Organisations).
- Various export functionalities — generated documents, reports,
  and data exports across the workspace.

## AI models

bauklar.ai is multi-LLM. Currently supported providers:

- Anthropic Claude
- Google Gemini
- Mistral
- Groq
- Perplexity

Routing is configurable per tenant.

## Trust and data handling

- **Swiss operator, EU hosting.** Operator is bauklar GmbH, Zürich
  (Switzerland). Servers and object storage run in Germany
  (Hetzner).
- **Encrypted at rest.** Content is encrypted in the database.
- **GDPR and Swiss DSG compliant.** See the
  [privacy page](https://app.bauklar.ai/privacy) for the processor
  list and retention policy.

## What bauklar.ai is NOT

- Not a generic ChatGPT wrapper.
- Not built for US construction norms.
- Not a document-management SaaS.
- Not the marketing site (that's at bauklar.ai, separate codebase).
